Lavender Body Butter

There's nothing more lovely than all-natural, homemade skin care. This is the most simple way to get a very luxurious and beautiful product using ingredients from the Earth! You can make your own lavender buttery body cream with three simple ingredients that your body will surely thank you for.



2 tablespoons shea butter

1 teaspoon jojoba oil

1/2 teaspoon dried lavender

How To

Scoop 2 tablespoons of raw shea butter into a bowl, along with 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil. To melt this, fill a pot or bowl with boiling water and then set the bowl of ingredients into it so the steam from the boiling water will heat and melt them together. (If you need more heat, do the same process over the stove with a low flame.) When this happens, remove the bowl of oils and set them aside to cool. Be sure to let this solidify at room temperature before moving forward.

After about 20-40 minutes, put 1/2 teaspoon of dried lavender into the bowl, or the desired amount, and get your blender out! I used a hand-held blender for this and I found it really easy to control the consistency of the cream, but any blender will work fine.

When it's all whipped up, store this in a clean jar and enjoy! I love this body cream because it's fresh and wonderfully scented. It also looks beautiful because the lavender flowers remain visible after the whole process.



Shea butter is a natural, rich moisturizer that comes from karite tree seeds found in Western and Central Africa. It’s a triglyceride (fat) that’s deeply absorbed by the skin and is able to heal all skin types. Shea butter can be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions such as dryness, eczema, broken skin, and sunburns, to name a few.

The oil will provide additional moisture and healing benefits. I chose jojoba oil because it’s gentle and feels light on the skin. Other options include coconut oil, grape seed oil, hemp seed oil, almond oil, or any natural oil that you prefer for your skin!

Lavender has a very soothing aroma. Also, it helps reduce stress and anxiety, keeps bacteria out of the pores, and calms skin irritation. This is a lovely addition to this recipe!
